Purpose of the project
This project is part of the strategic objective of Tartu University Hospital to concentrate acute treatment into one compact system, and to develop the Maarjamõisa Medical Campus of Tartu University Hospital.
The project has two main aims:
- to concentrate the functions, i.e., to create a compact and efficient acute medical care complex that encompasses the currently widely dispersed clinical departments and supporting services, and
- to stop the acute care activities in the old buildings that are hopelessly unfit for this purpose.
The immediate aim of the project is by the end of 2015 to build and deploy the construction phase II of the acute treatment complex of Tartu University Hospital – buildings J, K and L – which will be built at the medical campus in Puusepa 8.
Construction phase II will be a logical extension of construction phase I, which was completed in 2008 with the support of the European Union Regional Development Fund, as well as the prerequisite for the preparation of construction phases III and IV.
